purity

Why do we conceal so much of our true thoughts?

Civility is important, make no mistake about that. But it's not the highest priority.

Life is short, be pure in what you do. You might be surprised at the respect it will earn for you.

If someone cannot tolerate that you spoke your mind or lived your politic, you have to question the value of that person in your life.

If you are going to be damned, being so for being honest is honorable. Much more so than just saying what people want to hear when you don't mean a word of it.

The next time someone asks you "how are you", tell them the truth. Watch their reaction, it's revealing. You'll learn volumes about the person's sincerity. Most of my real friends have learned not to ask me that unless they are ready for a real conversation. The others just flinch.

In the end, it's no tragedy to be considered an asshole for being truthful simply because someone doesn't like reality served up to them.

It's a dish best served icy cold.
