DK is proud to present a trilogy by German dungeon-synth duo GILGARETH, consisting of the albums "Werkzeuge des Meisters," "Sidequests," and "Aventurische Flüsse." The covers are by Caryad (illustrator of the classic German role-playing game "Das Schwarze Auge"), and each cassette of the trilogy contains a portion of a ready-to-play RPG campaign written by the HDK editorial team.

Four mighty rivers course through Aventurian realms. Born as silver springs in sun‑baked plains or mist‑crowned peaks, they thunder through savage gorges and glide majestically through primeval forests and finally empty into the boundless sea. Proud castles stand sentinel upon green ridges along their banks, banners snapping in the river wind. These waterways are far more than rivers. They are wellsprings of life, borders between kingdoms, trade routes, vessels of myth and legend, living ribbons binding lands, people, and tales. This regional sourcebook invites you to journey the mightiest rivers of Aventuria.

»Der Große Fluss« (The Great River) is Aventuria's longest waterway. Born where the Ange and Breite join north of Angbar, it flows into the Sea of Seven Winds at Havena. Fortunes are made and lost on this river, lives given and taken. The Great River is the kingdom’s lifeline: control its currents, control the realm! The »Fluss der Morgenröte« (River of Dawn) springs forth in the distant East, where Praios' golden orb first kisses the land each morning. Its waters run crystal-clear and the shores are lined with Tulamidian temples and enigmatic ruins. What secrets do they hold? The »Yaquir« is Aventuria's second-longest river and a waterway of extremes – raging and deadly, then sluggish and impenetrable. But don't be fooled! The infamous river pirates know its moods well! Those who want to master the Yaquir need courage, skill, and a swift vessel! The »Weidenfluss« (Willow River) seems the gentlest of the four – a peaceful stream winding through verdant meadows. Willows grace its banks, fishermen cast their nets, the water murmurs softly. Yet even here old mysteries lurk: encounter sunken treasures, forgotten temples, and the restless spirits of the drowned!

This regional sourcebook contains no adventures, no rules - only the lore, legends, and landscapes you need to bring Aventuria’s world to life.

Most melodies and patterns grew through improvisation over what was already there, then changed course, returned, dissolved, and reappeared elsewhere, carried downstream.

The music is dedicated to classic digital synth sounds, sometimes rough and edgy, sometimes celestial, in parts clumsy and wonky, but all of them mighty. Accompanied by iconic drum machines, the tracks are mixed and recorded using analog equipment, some of which is delightfully worn and imperfect.

𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗦 is your adventure compendium – it contains ten journeys, ten strange little quests: enchanted forests, burning deserts, courtly intrigue, dragon myths, ogre tears, and magical mushrooms. Compared to the core rulebook, the sound is more medieval, warmer, and more analog. Sometimes elvish, sometimes clumsy enough for an ogre high-school party.
Much of the album is driven by a recently discovered medieval groovebox, perfectly suited for dungeon raves, roadside rituals, and your next dancing plague. We are fully in the game now.
