This is a solo barbarian game based on the Mörk Borg rulebook.
It offers a playable barbarian class that does not require you to create an entire party. Thanks to a few special rules, it is possible to have a reasonable chance of survival even when playing solo.
The game features its own bestiary and a comprehensive quest generator.
Ancient barbarian tales are usually set in eras where one civilisation has just fallen and the seeds of the next are already taking root. In these narratives, the barbarians often represent these seeds; whilst on the one hand they are wild and critical of civilisation, on the other they are usually, without realising it, in the process of bringing a new form of civilisation into the world.
A pacifist approach is rather alien to them, for when enough is enough, enough is enough – and that may well be enforced by force of arms. However, they reject sadism, unjust systems of rule and senseless cruelty, and that, I believe, is the civilised core of their being.
I think you’ll get the most enjoyment out of this game if you develop your barbarians along these lines… it might be worth reading through a few ancient stories to help with that…
This game is, of course, not intended to fuel any fascist notions about barbarians. If you’re a fascist, please play something else!!!

The MÖRK BORG rules are essential for this game. There are a few reminders on page 37, but without reading the original rules in full, this game will be rather difficult to understand. You can either treat yourself to the wonderful MÖRK BORG book or download the ‘MÖRK BORG Bare Bones Edition’ for free. The monsters featured in this zine can, of course, also be combined with those in the core rulebook.

A huge "thank you" to Stephen j. Grodzicki who allowed me to use the "Defense Die"-rule from "Tales of Argosa" (a great game!)
